This is NOT a non-electric machine. The end of the electric motor is clearly visible, and the belt that goes to the pulley on the motor is also visible. Foot powered sewing machines come mounted on a table on a large iron framework that holds the foot powered rocker (treadle) and flywheel that powers the machine. The power cord is not visible, may be missing, and this fooled the not-so-mechanical photographer? What did he/she think made the machine work?
