>>>the camera's are responsible for the increase in rear enders because if they weren't there people would not feel the need to slam on the brakes

I didn't say high speed has anything to do with freedom. I don't race or speed. I have never been ticketed by a red light camera either. It's not a matter of being afraid and it's not anti law enforcement, the point is the cameras lower the quality of life and make people feel like they're living in an orwellian big brother everywhere country. Yes, the camera's are responsible for the increase in rear enders because if they weren't there people would not feel the need to slam on the brakes to avoid a $350 fine. Sadly there will always be accidents, but the camera's are not really helping reduce the numbers. The things should go, of course I am sure they never will because they are to profitable. $

so you think that high speed has something to do with freedom? lol. if "the vast majority of drivers are law obeying citizens who drive just fine", then they do not need to be afraid of or against speed cameras! "Studies have shown that rear end collisions go up in the intersections with those cameras" - well, the reason is that people are too fast!!! the cameras are not responsible for those crashes. don't you realize that you contradict yourself? if people are really "driving fine" - why are there any rear end collisions??? cities make lots of money, and those who pay the money will be slower the next time they pass by!

You seem to want less freedom in exchnge for more security? Ruthless race drivers, lol. The vast majority of drivers are law obeying citizens who drive just fine and you want to penalize them because there are a few racers out there? We seem to have gotten by OK all the years before the red light camera was produced. You could always get a Hummer if you wanna feel safe. The sad thing is you wish there were more camera's. No one I talk to likes them. People don't want to have to worry that if they make a flub up by being a second or two late they are going to have to pony up a load of cash. Studies have shown that rear end collisions go up in the intersections with those camera's. So there goes the safety justification. Cities make lots of money off of them and that is why they are appearing all over the place.

first of all they want more safety! do you belong to those who endanger other peoples life and health by racing on public streets? i wished there were more of these speed cameras in the streets to save the reasonable majority from ruthless wannabe-race drivers!
