What a beautiful child. I just hope that this was a superficial wound (the scalp does tend to bleed a lot). I agree with Hot Badger Deluxe. Communication seems to be the only answer - that and less hateful talk by everyone on both sides.

If only both sides would just sit down and talk.

Thanks for sharing further information about this incident. I see that I'm no better than 'david still' when it comes to making assumptions about a situation... Should I have reserved sharing my outrage at the tactics of both sides in this conflict for a picture of an actual reprisal? Is my point less valid?

It's easy to assume that this boy's father voted for Hamas and thus 'demonize' him, but you don't know how this man voted in those elections, david. He was at a funeral with his son when the event was attacked by Israeli rockets. It seems to me that attacks from BOTH sides have lately been designed without consideration of the possible injury to innocent bystanders. Acts of violent retribution never solve disputes, they only set the conditions for further acts of incivility. Let me be clear, I think that Hamas' continued reliance on terror attacks as a form of foreign policy compromises their position as a legitimate government of Palestine, however, Israel's choice of response of using rockets fired into densely populated ghettos with little or no heed paid to the damage of collateral casualty caused by their attacks, loses them the 'moral high ground' they try to claim, in my opinion.

kind of looks like one of these faked pictures by reuters

yeah they voted for that and nothing changed, thats true david, but what is really moving for me is that, the boy isnt really aware whats going on. maybe its not the right place but when i was small, i wanted to get some apples from the tree. i couldnt climb on it, so i grab peace of brick, throwed up. got some apples but on the third time i only saw that something moved up in the tree and then i was lying on the ground with huge headace, saw blood flooding by left eye, i didnt even think what was going on, didnt even cry, when i got home my grandma saw me, she passed out, mom took me to the hostpital, 8 seams and to home. what i mean by this is that, look at the boys face, his probably so shocked that dont even realize what just happend... thats the sadness i think, votes from his parents hurts him, not the parents

yes. sad. but their parents voted for Hamas and a continued rocket attack upon Israel, and then the militants hide amongst civilians and of course the counter attack kills innocents, much as the rockets from Hamas intended purposely to kill civilians.

They are innocent victims of all wars .... very sad
