Don't know where that 40,000+ ton business came from..no telling...Pasha Bulker is rated to carry a little over 76,000 metric tons DWI, which stand for deadweight tonnage..a metric ton is 1,000 kilograms, or about 2200 lbs...that's a lot of sacks of groceries..she was empty, waiting to load coal, when she was blown aground on a sandy beach by a storm...she was towed off and is being repaired..by the way, the term DWI, or deadweight tonnage, is used when a ship carries coal, gravel, iron ore, or similar cargo..when she carries sheep, cattle, pigs, or such then the cargo is expressed in LWI, or liveweight tonnage...

when these ships are in the dry dock near here i shudder. huge ships like these just send a tingle of fear up my spine. they shouldn't exist... guess i dont trust human engineering ;), huge metal things have a tendency to fall over.

Where was this photo taken from? From looking at google earth, and drawing a line between the surf club i'm guessing it is the building at: Lat: -32.9277° Long: 151.783°

Either that water is really deep, or that boat is stuck...... or maybe it's not so real
