I'm only 31 years old and I remember gas being 69 cents a gallon at one station.

And $0.23 pack of cigarettes from a vending machine - you put in $0.25 and got two cents taped to the side of the pack.

Yeah...I remember it cheaper than that..also remember 5 cent Cokes, coffee, and pay phone calls..not to mention 25 cent hamburgers and 79 cent six-packs...bought a brand new Ford fleet-side pickup about 1965 or so for a little less than two thousand bucks...but also about that time worked one summer ( I was an under-graduate )as a welder in an assembly plant for $1.90 an hour and thought that was a pretty good hourly wage..what we all want,of course, are 1900 taxes, 1925 prices, and 2008 wages and salaries..
