I think that one may have to determine what this animal is by looking at the plant life. We have bamboo and a hibiscus here. Could this animal frequent a tropical location ? That could be a clue...

On closer examination this appears not to be a Potto after all. The Potto's index finger is vestigial, like a little stump, while the animal in the photo above clearly has four full-length fingers with which it is grasping the hibiscus.

I believe that may be a Potto ( Perodictus potto ), a prosimian closely related to Lorises and Tarsiers. Will post a couple of pics of Pottos and you may judge for yourselves.
